Using the iPad Camera Connector kit, you can plug in a USB stick to import videos and pictures without having to connect your iPad to iTunes. If you need more storage than you have on your iPad, you could simply keep some videos on a stick, and download them to and delete them from your photo library at will.
This also means that if you need to import video and pictures onto the iPad from a computer, you can do so. Here is how it works.
- Plug your USB Drive into a computer, and put a folder on it called DCIM
- Drop movies and pictures into that DCIM folder (.mov and .jpeg seem to work, I’m sure others do as well)
- Plug your camera connector kit into iPad, and plug the USB Drive in.
- movies will import into your library (you can select some or all, whatever you need).
This has worked for me so far. If you run into any hiccups or suggestions, please let me know in the comments below.
